Lot 127:
Description
An assortment of vintage costume jewellery featuring multiple stick pins and a small brooch, presented in a decorative cream-coloured moulded plastic case. The collection includes five stick pins with cast silver-tone metal animal finials, depicting rabbits or mice in various poses. One prominent stick pin features a faceted blue glass teardrop-shaped stone set within an openwork, twisted silver-tone wire border. Additional stick pins include one decorated with a graduated series of fluted silver and gold-tone metallic beads, one with a black glass teardrop-shaped bead, and three smaller pins secured in the lid: one with a faceted red glass bead, one with a small simulated pearl, and one with a simple cylindrical metal cap. The small silver-tone brooch is designed as a stylised, abstract foliate or bow-like form. The items are constructed from silver-tone and gold-tone base metals with no visible hallmarks or precious metal fineness marks. A fragmentary black and gold foil label is adhered to the interior lid, showing only a legible cursive capital letter H. The moulded plastic case features a decorative floral and lace-like relief pattern on the exterior.
Case width: 12.7 cm.
Condition report:
The collection is in fair to good vintage condition. Tarnish and surface oxidation are visible on the metal components, and several of the pin stems show slight bending. The interior satin-finish lining is notably yellowed and exhibits various stains. The moulded plastic case shows light surface scuffing and residue from old labels on the exterior.
