Lot 13:
Description
An antique stick pin featuring a floral daisy cluster head. The head comprises seven grain-set old-cut diamonds, including a central stone surrounded by six outer stones. Each stone is set within a circular border featuring milgrain detailing. The face of the floral motif is constructed from white metal, while the reverse of the head and the shank are composed of rose-toned gold. The long shank includes a spirally-twisted section for grip. The pin is fitted with a yellow-toned metal safety clutch. There are no visible hallmarks or maker’s marks; precious metal content is suggested by the two-tone construction but remains untested. 9ct Stick and 14ct mount
Head diameter: approximately 8-10mm
Total length: approximately 60-70mm.
Condition report:
The pin is in good antique condition. All seven diamonds are present and appear securely set. There is a slight, gentle curve to the metal shank near the junction with the flower head. General light surface wear and minor oxidation are present, consistent with age and use. The safety clutch shows more pronounced wear and a different metal tone than the pin itself, suggesting it is a later replacement. Professional testing for precious metal content is recommended due to the lack of visible hallmarks.
