Description
This lot comprises an assortment of vintage optical toys produced by GAF, Sawyers, and Mothercare. The collection is centred around the GAF Talking View-Master system and includes a large lithographed tin storage container with a removable lid, featuring colourful rainbow graphics and official branding. Included is a white plastic GAF Talking View-Master hand-held stereo viewer and a red plastic Sound Bar attachment with a clear light-transmitting window. The lot also features a tan plastic Sawyers View-Master viewer accompanied by its original cardboard retail box and a paper reel sleeve. Additionally, there is a blue plastic Mothercare Disney Movie Viewer with a pistol-grip handle and a manual hand-crank mechanism, paired with a white plastic movie cartridge for Disney’s The Rescuers. Software includes a cardboard-cased set of 21 Talking View-Master reels for Walt Disney Productions Bambi. Visible markings include the gaf logo in a red square, the Sawyers diamond logo, and specific product branding for the Talking View-Master and Mothercare lines.

Condition report:
The white Talking View-Master viewer exhibits significant yellowing and staining to the plastic housing, particularly concentrated around the eyepieces. The blue movie viewer and red sound bar appear in good aesthetic condition with minor surface scuffing. The lithographed storage tin shows signs of age, including surface scratches, small dents, and visible oxidation and rust along the top and bottom metal rims. The Bambi reel packaging has wear to the corners and edges with some creasing. The Sawyers cardboard box is in poor condition, being flattened, heavily worn, and having torn flaps. All electronic and mechanical functions remain untested.
