Description
A trio of vintage scarves, including two examples from the British heritage brand Jacqmar. The first Jacqmar scarf features a bold, stylised floral and foliate design on a vibrant red ground, with motifs in purple, lime green, and ochre. The second Jacqmar scarf displays a mid-century modernist abstract geometric pattern in shades of forest green, lime green, black, white, and brown. Both Jacqmar scarves are printed with the maker’s name in the lower right corner. The third, unsigned scarf features a traditional all-over paisley teardrop pattern in a palette of mustard yellow, chocolate brown, and cream. All three scarves are constructed from silk or silk twill.
Width: 66 cm (approximately 26 inches) total as laid out.
Condition report:
The paisley scarf shows significant fraying and structural wear along the right-hand vertical edge. The red Jacqmar scarf is in generally good vintage condition with minor creasing. The green geometric Jacqmar scarf displays light wear and some slight unevenness to the cream-coloured border.
