Description
A collection of vintage Rupert Bear annuals published by the Daily Express and Beaverbrook Newspapers. These volumes are bound in original pictorial paper boards, with at least one volume featuring a green cloth-wrapped spine. The covers feature full-colour illustrations in the style of Alfred Bestall, depicting Rupert Bear in various settings alongside characters such as Bill Badger and other animal companions. The scenes depicted include Rupert with a tray of fruit, a steam train in a rural landscape, and woodland animal gatherings. The volumes are in quarto format. A wooden ruler is present in the image for scale.

Condition report:
The collection is in used condition with significant signs of age and wear. All volumes exhibit rubbing and scuffing to the paper boards, with heavy wear and loss to the edges and bumped corners. One volume shows a large dark stain and surface damage on the front cover. The text block edges display visible foxing and browning. Spines are worn with visible fraying to the cloth and paper components.
