Description

A vintage fragrance set from the historic perfume house of Farina Gegenuber (Johann Maria Farina gegenuber dem Julichs-Platz), featuring their signature Genuine Eau de Cologne. The set comprises a tall, slender Rosoli-style bottle presented in its original light-wood sliding-lid box with a historical paper insert. The bottle is constructed from translucent emerald green glass in a cylindrical form. It features an applied relief emblem of a red tulip with a silver-tone border, positioned above a silver-tone banner label inscribed with Eau de Cologne and Genuine. The bottle is fitted with a red and white screw-on cap. The sliding wooden lid of the presentation box is printed with a red tulip logo and the script Johann Maria Farina gegenuber dem Julichs-Platz along with the founding date 1709. The included German language paper insert provides historical context regarding the Rosolen bottle form and commemorates the 250th anniversary of the factory, dating this edition to circa 1959. The liquid fill level remains high, situated near the shoulder of the bottle. Internal tissue paper lining is present within the box.

Box length: Approximately 28 cm
Bottle height: Approximately 26.5 cm.

Condition report:

The glass bottle is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or abrasions. The applied labels and relief emblem are well-preserved and intact. The wooden box exhibits typical age-related wear, including minor scuffing, darkening of the timber, and light surface staining to the lid. The paper ephemera is yellowed with age and displays prominent fold lines, while the internal tissue paper is heavily creased and wrinkled. As a vintage fragrance, the liquid is sold primarily as a collectible item; top notes may have degraded or altered over time.
