Lot 187:
Description
A varied group of vintage items centred around a dark wood pedestal bowl. The bowl contains a turquoise-glazed ceramic cat figurine, a small blue and white ceramic figure, and a commemorative bronze-finish medal in a blue velvet-lined box for the Army Catering Corps Jubilee 1941-1991. Also within the bowl are two polished chrome spheres, a painted metal guardsman figure, a metal bottle opener and retractable reel marked Magners Original, and several assorted metal medallions. Surrounding the central piece are a red leatherette-covered hip flask, a Jasni branded multi-tool in its original black presentation box, and a red book-form savings bank embossed with the Westminster Bank Limited crest. The lot further includes four brass-coloured metal instrument mouthpieces, a rectangular trinket box with a floral-decorated lid, a green and white hexagonal ceramic money box with a red Prince of Wales feathers emblem, two faceted scent bottles featuring ornate metal filigree caps, and a cast metal crown-form money box marked Elizabeth on the base.
Width: 33 inches.
Condition report:
The collection shows general signs of age and use. The wooden pedestal bowl has surface scuffs and scratches. The Westminster Bank savings bank displays wear to the leatherette corners and edges. Tarnish and surface wear are evident on the metal mouthpieces, medallions, and filigree caps. The ceramic and glass items appear to be in good order without major chips or cracks.
