Description
A Japanese clockwork wind-up toy by Kuramochi, featuring a stylized chick character riding a red tricycle. The toy is manufactured from mixed materials, including a red plastic frame and handlebars with a soft vinyl figure. The three wheels and the rear dome-shaped canopy are made from lithographed tinplate. The canopy displays the Kuramochi maker’s mark of a letter K inside a red circle with JAPAN printed below. The tin wheels are decorated with colourful, concentric circular patterns in red, yellow, blue, and white. The toy includes an integrated winding mechanism with a fixed metal key located on the right side of the frame.

Condition report:
The item is in good original condition and appears complete with its rear canopy and winding key. The lithographed tinplate components retain vibrant colours, showing only minor surface scratches and rubbing to the raised edges of the wheels. The vinyl head and body show light surface soiling and minor age-related yellowing but remain intact without cracks. The plastic frame is structurally sound. The tyres exhibit surface wear and hardening consistent with age. The clockwork mechanism has not been tested for functionality.
