Description

A collection of Asian-themed decorative objects and table articles comprising various materials and forms, likely of 20th-century manufacture. The ceramics include a cream crackle-glazed ovoid ginger jar decorated with hand-painted warrior figures on horseback, a tall slender-necked vase featuring polychrome panels of figures in a garden setting, a small square porcelain dish with a yellow border and central landscape scene, and a porcelain figurine of a seated geisha in a green kimono. Carved pieces consist of two dark-stained wooden figures of Chinese immortals or wise men on integral bases, a translucent light green figure of a seated Laughing Buddha crafted from resin or glass, and a small carving of two fish. Miscellaneous articles include a bamboo-cased map scroll revealing a printed map, a red textile-covered presentation box containing a black rectangular relief plaque depicting the Great Wall of China, and a fabric-lined box containing a pair of iridescent chime balls. No maker marks or signatures are visible.

Tall Vase: 22 – 24 cm height
Crackle-glaze Jar: 14 – 15 cm height
Wooden Figures: 15 cm height
Great Wall Plaque Box: 15 cm width.

Condition report:

The items are in good decorative condition with signs of age and handling. The red textile presentation box shows significant fraying and wear to the fabric edges and corners. Minor surface dust and light scuffing are visible on the wooden and bamboo items. The porcelain and ceramic pieces appear free of major chips or cracks; the crackle effect on the jar is a stylised feature of the glaze. All pieces exhibit expected shelf wear to the bases.
