Description
This is a contemporary mechanical cylinder music box manufactured by Sankyo. The model is identified by a label as OpusIII and features the tune Edelweiss from The Sound of Music. The movement is housed within a five-panel clear glass skeleton case, which is supported by four brass-toned fluted corner columns. The assembly is mounted on a dark-stained stepped wooden base. The winding key is positioned on the top glass panel and is embossed with the Sankyo manufacturer name. A metal control lever is located on the interior base plate for manual on and off operation. The underside of the base features a red identification label and a circular white paper certificate of quality printed with Chinese characters. This label includes a hand-stamped date of 28 January 2003 and a handwritten price of ¥248.00.

Condition report:
The music box is in good used condition. The glass panels are intact and free from chips or cracks. The wooden base shows minor surface wear and light scuffs consistent with age. There is a presence of light surface tarnish and dust on the interior metal movement and the brass-toned components. While the mechanical movement appears physically intact, the playing condition and sound quality have not been verified.
