Description
A Hornby for Marks and Spencer OO gauge electric model railway set, produced to commemorate the 2004 Rail Bicentenary. The set features the British Railways Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 steam locomotive Evening Star, carrying the running number 92220, finished in Brunswick green livery with the late British Railways crest on the tender. The set comprises the locomotive and tender, three maroon passenger coaches, an oval of track, and a pair of unique Swindon commemorative cufflinks. The models are constructed from plastic and die-cast metal components and designed for 12V DC operation. The set is housed in its original illustrated cardboard packaging featuring large photographic imagery and the 2004 Rail Bicentenary diamond logo. Branding for Marks and Spencer is present on the box top left, with large red Evening Star lettering to the top right. A Hornby brand mark is located on the bottom edge of the packaging.

Condition report:
The original cardboard box is in fair to good condition, showing general signs of shelf wear including creases and scuffs along the edges and corners. A small puncture is present in the red header section of the box above the locomotive boiler image. The internal components are housed in their original packaging. The set has not been tested for electrical functionality and the completeness of all small detailing parts is unverified.
