Description
An Assortment of approximately 38 miniature glazed ceramic animal figurines produced by Wade Ceramics Ltd. This collection consists of various models from the Whimsies series, which were manufactured in England and frequently used as premiums for Red Rose Tea. The assortment includes an array of animal subjects such as a lion, rhinoceros, penguin, owl, squirrel, bear, armadillo, and fox. Also featured are domestic animals including several dogs, cats, and a pig, alongside aquatic life represented by a seal, whale, and frog. The pieces are made from moulded ceramic and finished with characteristic high-gloss glazes in shades of brown, tan, grey, blue, and green.
Condition report:
The collection is generally in good condition, though many pieces show minor surface wear and small chips typical of these items. One orange-glazed figurine is an incomplete fragment. The glazes on the green frog and blue seal figurines are well-preserved.
