The set features two opposing sides in contrasting cream and dark brown colours. The figures include seated kings and queens, bishops with mitres, knights on horseback, shield-bearing warders, and obelisk-shaped pawns decorated with Celtic-style motifs. The set is housed in a polished wood storage box with two internal compartments lined in green felt and fitted with brass-toned hardware, including an inset lid plate and keyhole escutcheon.
King and Queen height: 85–95 mm
Pawn height: 40–50 mm
Box width: approximately 23 cm.
Condition report:
The chess pieces are in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The wooden storage box shows minor surface scratches and light wear to the finish consistent with use. The brass-toned hardware exhibits slight tarnishing. The interior green felt lining is intact with light signs of dust.
