Description
A hand-painted glazed ceramic figurine of a cat, known as the England Football Cat, produced by Lorna Bailey Pottery. The figure features a stylized yellow-bodied cat with black accents and a broad smile, holding a black and white football under one arm and a shield decorated with the red Cross of St. George on a white ground. The cat stands upon a rectangular green base intended to represent grass. The underside of the base bears a hand-written signature in black ink for Tony Bailey.
Height: 14 cm.
Condition report:
The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or visible signs of repair. The glaze remains bright and highly reflective. Minor manufacturing pinholes are present in the glaze on the reverse of the head.
