Description
A George III style mahogany console table featuring a rectangular top with flame mahogany veneers, cross-banded borders, and boxwood stringing. The frieze contains two drawers, each decorated with matching flame mahogany veneers and boxwood stringing. Each drawer is fitted with two circular brass ring-pull handles with decorative bosses and exhibits traditional dovetailed construction. The table is supported by four square tapered legs with incised vertical reeding at the shoulders, terminating in spade feet.
Condition report:
The table is in generally good condition with minor surface scratches and light scuffs to the top. There is visible wear and scuffing to the finish on the lower sections of the legs and spade feet. A fabric poppy pin is attached to the upper left leg stile. The item is dusty from storage and would benefit from cleaning and polishing. The drawer action is functional and the brass hardware is intact.
