Lot 169:
Description
A two-piece jewellery set consisting of a solitaire ring and a plain wedding band. The solitaire ring features a single round-cut colourless stone, approximately 4mm in diameter, held within a rub-over bezel setting. The band has a court-profile cross-section and is stamped 925 to the interior shank, indicating sterling silver. The second item is a plain wedding band of D-section profile, featuring four struck hallmarks to the interior which are not currently legible. Both rings are constructed from white metal, identified as sterling silver by the marks present.
Band width: approximately 3mm to 4mm
Stone diameter: approximately 4mm.
Condition report:
Both rings show signs of moderate wear consistent with regular use, including visible surface scratches and minor nicks to the metal. There is significant tarnishing and oxidation, particularly in the crevices of the setting and around the hallmarks. The hallmarks on the wedding band are obscured by wear and oxidation and require professional cleaning for identification. The stone appears secure in its setting.
