Description

An extensive assortment of medals, enamelled badges, and embroidered cloth insignia, primarily of British origin and dating from the mid-20th century to 2022. The collection encompasses items related to uniformed services, fraternal organisations, road safety, and sporting achievements. Notable pieces include a Police Athletic Association star medal in its original plastic pouch, a matching Police Athletic Association leather fob, and a 2022 Leicestershire and Rutland Masonic Charitable Foundation enamelled jewel. The lot features several RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) safe driving awards with green ribbons and date bars, including one for 1968. Sporting and achievement awards comprise an Amateur Swimming Association bronze survival medal and a Complete Swimmer enamelled badge. Youth and travel items include International Youth Hostel Association (IYHA) embroidered patches, a Birmingham and Mid-Wales Youth Hostels patch, and souvenir patches for Loch Lomond and Exmoor. A prominent large circular embroidered patch features a gold-coloured heraldic beast on a dark blue ground. Materials include gilt and silver-tone base metals with hard and soft enamel finishes, woven fabric ribbons, and embroidered fabric.
