Description

A collection of British royal commemorative numismatic items featuring a silver commemorative dish with an inset gilt medallion. The dish features a central medallion commemorating the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, 1952-2002. The obverse displays a crowned profile of the Queen, and the reverse shows a crown with the date 2002. The lot includes various white metal and gilt medallions commemorating the proposed coronation of King Edward VIII and the 1937 coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Also included is a Queen’s Gallery medallion, a Silver Jubilee pin, and a brass openwork badge featuring the royal cypher GR under a crown. Several medals retain their original tricolour silk ribbons.

Condition report:

The silver dish displays surface scratches, fingerprints, and minor tarnishing. Medallions show a range of condition from very fine to good, with some exhibiting significant surface wear, toning, and loss of original finish. Silk ribbons are frayed, creased, and stained. The brass cypher badge shows surface oxidation.
