Description
A large assortment of lace-making bobbins, numbering between 80 and 120 pieces. The collection comprises bobbins crafted from various materials, including light and dark turned hardwoods, bone, and composite examples. Most bobbins are equipped with spangles, featuring wire loops and a variety of glass beads such as lampwork, faceted, and seed beads, intended to provide tension. Several examples bear commemorative inscriptions including Merry Christmas 1991, The Wednesday Gang Christmas 1992, Christmas 1984, and of change. The lot includes two storage boxes: one hinged box in a natural wood finish, likely cedar, and a dark-stained decorative box ornamented with light-coloured dot inlays and geometric marquetry panels on the lid and sides. Additionally, the collection contains a circular white lace cover featuring a floral pattern and a crocheted border weighted with multi-coloured glass beads.

Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition. The bobbins appear well-preserved with intact spangles. The wooden storage boxes show minor surface wear, including light scratches and scuffs commensurate with age and use. The lace cover is clean and free from visible stains or fraying.
