Lot 206:
Description
A trio of glazed ceramic anthropomorphic pig figurines depicting various characters in formal and school dress. The set comprises a male-style pig wearing blue dungarees with a red and white diagonally striped necktie, a female-style pig in a white blouse and green pleated pinafore with a yellow and green striped necktie, and a female-style pig in a blue blouse with a black bow and black skirt carrying a brown shoulder bag. Each figure is finished with a high-gloss glaze over a pink body colour, featuring hand-painted facial details, large eyes with eyelashes on the female figures, and protruding snouts. The characters are modelled in standing poses with whimsical expressions, two of which feature a single flopped-over ear. No legible marks, signatures or labels are visible.
Height (left): 4.75 inches
Height (centre): 5 inches
Height (right): 5.5 inches.
Condition report:
The figurines are in good overall condition with a bright, glossy glaze finish. A small dark mark or minor chip is present on the front of the left foot of the figure in dungarees (main image). The figure in the blue blouse shows a small white spot on the front of the black skirt, which appears to be a minor glaze skip or surface abrasion (main image). No significant cracks or structural damage are visible.
