Description
A vintage wood sewing box comprising an assortment of mid-20th-century haberdashery. The collection includes a card of Singer 48 hand sewing needles marked 22p, a card of Newey Snap Fasteners in size 2 marked 7 1/2p, and a Stancraft Twin Pack Bead Threader. A boxed Speedeecut Adjustable Carpet and Rug Maker is present, alongside a natural finish wood darning mushroom. Various wooden and plastic thread spools by brands including Sylko and Dewhurst’s are included, as well as a card of Chadwick’s Wool and Nylon and a small hand-knitted flower. The lot is accompanied by a wood ruler marked Singer and Made in England. The items bear legible printed markings including SINGER, NEWEY GOODMAN LTD. BIRMINGHAM B28 0JG ENGLAND, and The SPEEDEECUT.

Condition report:
The wooden box exhibits surface scuffing and wear to the finish across the exterior (photo 1). The interior satin lining shows age-related yellowing and minor fraying at the edges (photo 1). Original packaging for the Singer needles and Newey fasteners shows creasing and edge wear, and the Speedeecut rug maker box is crushed with surface staining (photo 2).
