Description
A trio of cloisonné enamel trinket boxes comprising a tall rectangular box, a heart-shaped box, and an oval box. The rectangular box features a female figure in traditional dress standing by water with a pagoda and crescent moon against a cobalt blue ground. The heart-shaped box displays a floral lotus motif on a blue ground. The oval box is decorated with a dragon and floral design against a black ground. All items are constructed from metal with multi-coloured vitreous enamel inlays. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Height (rectangular box): 10 cm
Width (heart-shaped box): 6.5 cm
Width (oval box): 7.5 cm.
Condition report:
Oxidation and tarnishing are visible to the exposed metal rims of all three boxes (photo 1). Surface grime and minor pitting to the enamel are present across the collection (photo 1).
