Condition report:

The exterior of the case shows scuffing and wear to the edges and corners (photo 1). The interior cream silk lining is heavily discoloured with yellowish staining and foxing (photo 1). The brown velvet base shows light dust and compression marks. The silver components exhibit surface tarnishing and fine surface scratches consistent with use. The ferrule on the knife shows oxidation at the junction with the handle (photo 2). The handles are yellowed with age but remain free of major cracks.
