Description
A vintage glass and metal manual butter churn featuring a square-section moulded glass jar. The front of the jar is embossed with text reading BLOW BUTTER CHURN, 3/20, MADE IN ENGLAND and 2 IMPERIAL QUARTS. The screw-top metal churning assembly comprises a gearbox housing cast with the name BLOW and a side-mounted crank handle with a dark-finished turned wooden grip. This mechanism operates a pair of bevel gears that rotate a central vertical shaft and a two-bladed metal paddle within the jar.

Condition report:
Significant surface oxidation and rust is present across all metal components including the lid, gear frame, and internal paddles (photo 1). The turned wooden handle grip shows darkening and wear to the finish from use (photo 1). The glass jar is in good condition with no visible chips or cracks (photo 2).
