Description
A collection of vintage British safety razors including examples by Wilkinson Sword, Valet AutoStrop, Rolls Razor, Gillette, and Wardonia. The Wilkinson Sword set is contained within a Silver case with a blue velvet lining, featuring a gold-leaf mark reading BY APPOINTMENT TO THE LATE KING GEORGE V, WILKINSON SWORD CO, MADE IN ENGLAND, alongside a 21/- price mark. A Valet AutoStrop set is housed in a red reptile-effect case with an original cardboard sleeve and instruction manual marked Issued by the manufacturers of the VALET AUTOSTROP SAFETY RAZOR Isleworth, Middx. The Rolls Razor Imperial model is presented in a Silver nickel-plated case featuring an engraved plate marked Rolls Razor and Pat. Nos. 224,578 and 242,718. The Gillette set comprises a Silver razor in a blue plastic case moulded with TRADE Gillette MARK and MADE IN ENGLAND. A Wardonia set includes a Silver handle and Bakelite head in a blue cardboard sleeve printed WARDONIA SAFETY RAZOR and WARDONIA WORKS, SHEFFIELD.

Condition report:
The exterior of the Wilkinson Sword case shows surface tarnishing and minor scratches (photo 2). Significant green verdigris and oxidation are visible on the internal handle and surrounding wood of the Rolls Razor set (photo 5). The Wardonia cardboard box displays edge wear and small tears (photo 2). The Valet AutoStrop outer sleeve shows minor wear to the corners and edges (photo 3). The Gillette set exhibits surface grime and corrosion on the blade dispenser components (photo 4).
