Description
A vintage Parker fountain pen featuring a streamlined black resin body and cap in a clipless, cigar-shaped design. The pen features a rounded, tapered profile and is constructed from a high-grade black resin. The 14ct gold nib is of the open variety and features a circular breather hole. The nib is stamped with the characters PARKER arranged in an arc above the arrow logo, followed by 14K and ENGLAND, with the number 8 positioned to the right of the breather hole. The cap is secured by a threaded section and features a single gold band at the base. The barrel unscrews to reveal the internal filling mechanism, which is integral to the section.
Condition report:
The resin body and cap show moderate fine surface scratches and wear consistent with age throughout (photo 1). The gold cap band displays significant brassing with loss of plating visible along the edges (photo 3). The gold nib shows surface tarnishing and the tip appears distorted and upturned (photo 2). The internal filling mechanism is untested.
