Description
A large Silver and Lapis gemstone desk globe featuring landmasses inlaid with a variety of stones including jasper, jade, and mother-of-pearl. The deep blue lapis oceans are set with gold-coloured wire latitudinal and longitudinal grid lines. The globe is mounted within a calibrated meridian ring on a polished silver tripod stand, joined at a central base plate containing a functional integrated compass with a glass cover. Geographical labels are printed in English, including THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, MONGOLIA, THAILAND, VIETNAM, MALAYSIA, INDONESIA, and PHILIPPINES. A large capital letter A is positioned over central China. No maker’s name or hallmarks are visible on the stand or globe surface.

Condition report:
The item is in good decorative condition. The globe surface is smooth and intact, with no missing stone segments or significant scratches visible. The polished silver stand shows minor surface smudges and light fingerprints consistent with handling (photo 1), but no signs of corrosion or structural damage. The integrated compass appears functional and its glass is clear.
