Lot 119:
Description
A diverse philatelic collection comprising multiple albums, stock pages, and Royal Mail presentation packs. The lot features a range of Royal Mail mint stamp sets, including Orchids, Swans, and the 2003 World Champions rugby commemorative issue. A significant portion of the material focuses on Germany, showcasing hyperinflation-era surcharged issues with denominations including 100 Tausend, 250 Tausend, and 5 Millionen, alongside post-war Deutsche Post and German Democratic Republic definitives. British postal history is represented through a Great Britain & Penny Collection folder and an album containing Queen Elizabeth II and King George VI issues, including the 1951 Festival of Britain series. Australian stamps are presented in an Australia and War folder and a stock page featuring various native fauna and landscape designs with values up to $1.50. The collection includes both mint and used examples, many featuring circular date stamp cancellations. A wooden ruler is visible in the background, showing markings from 16 to 20 inches.
Condition report:
The collection appears in good hobbyist condition overall. Presentation packs remain in their original plastic or card sleeves. Older album pages show characteristic yellowing and minor foxing consistent with age (photo 3). Used stamps exhibit various degrees of cancellation, from light circular date stamps to heavier machine cancels. Perforations appear mostly intact, though some older used stamps show minor edge wear typical of the period.
