Description
An assortment of vintage stereoscopic viewers and photographic equipment featuring several plastic and Bakelite View-Master models. The collection includes a black Bakelite View-Master Model C stereoscope with moulded text to the reverse reading Sawyer’s Inc. Portland, Oregon, U.S.A. alongside various patent numbers, and a black Bakelite Model D viewer with adjustable focusing eyepieces. Several red plastic viewers are present, including a Model G marked View-Master to the top centre, a Model E, and a Model L. A tan plastic Model F viewer bears a moulded mark to the reverse reading Made in Belgium – Sawyer’s Europe S.A. and is accompanied by its original green and white box. The lot also contains a Halina Viewer Model 531 in a yellow and black cardboard box, a GAF Pana-Vue Automatic lighted slide viewer in an illustrated box, and a boxed Panasonic WV-AD15A lens component. Accompanying ephemera comprises three ring-bound View-Master albums with blue and brown covers containing handwritten indexes for locations such as Norway and Germany, and a large quantity of individual reels in paper sleeves including subjects such as Blackgang Chine Isle of Wight. Internal text within the albums reads View-Master (England) Limited, 16-19 Eastcastle Street, London, W.1.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition with visible surface dust and minor scuffing to the plastic and Bakelite housings (photo 1). The Halina viewer box shows significant edge wear and crushing (photo 2). The GAF Pana-Vue box has notable tearing and surface loss to the top flap (photo 4). Paper reel sleeves and albums show age-related yellowing, creasing, and minor staining (photo 3). The lenses appear intact but require cleaning. Internal mechanical components and lighted functions are untested.
