Lot 126:
Description
A German brass maritime bulkhead wall clock featuring a circular polished case with a hinged bezel secured by a side-mounted latch. The white dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer minute track with Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals. The timepiece is fitted with black spade and poker hands and includes two winding apertures for a twin-train mechanical movement. A regulation slot is positioned at the twelve o’clock position, marked with plus and minus symbols. The dial bears the printed text MADE IN GERMANY at the base. The reverse of the clock features a brass backplate with a central circular access panel and is accompanied by a separate T-shaped winding key.
Diameter: 15.2 cm.
Condition report:
The brass case exhibits surface oxidation, tarnishing, and pitting throughout, consistent with maritime exposure (photo 1). There is a distinct dent and deformation to the upper left edge of the brass bezel (photo 1). The dial shows light surface soiling and minor scratching, particularly concentrated around the two winding apertures (photo 1). The glass is intact but shows minor surface dust. The winding key is present, though the mechanical working order of the movement has not been tested.
