Lot 168:
Description
A collection of decorative household and vanity items. The lot includes a Silver Plated three-piece vanity set comprising a hand mirror, a hairbrush, and a clothes brush, each featuring a linear engine-turned pattern. The set is presented in a cream textured box with a floral-patterned base. Also included is a wooden box with a glass-fronted lid containing a hand-carved cork diorama depicting a traditional Chinese landscape with a pagoda and cranes. A larger wooden vanity chest is present, finished in a light-coloured wood with a hinged lid, an interior mirror, and a front-facing keyhole. The collection is further comprised of a boxed set of five pairs of decorative chopsticks with colourful patterned handles and ceramic fish-shaped rests, a small glass display case containing a leather-look pouch, and an ornate filigree metal buckle. The background includes a brass-coloured censer and a white cased electronic device.
Width: 30.5 cm.
Condition report:
The silver plated vanity set shows surface oxidation and light tarnishing consistent with age. The interior mirror of the large wooden chest exhibits silvering degradation and foxing. The cork diorama appears intact. Minor corner wear is visible on the presentation boxes. All items are in used vintage condition.
