Description
A wooden pond yacht and a mechanical horse racing game. The pond yacht, titled Endeavour IV, is constructed with a carved wooden hull finished in white paint with a green pinstripe, featuring a metal keel and rudder. The deck is fitted with a mast, booms, and cloth sails, and includes an adjustable Braine-style steering gear comprising a notched green metal arc and tiller arm. A circular adhesive label on the deck is printed with a five-pointed star and the characters STAR YACHT GUARANTEED TO SAIL BIRKENHEAD MADE IN ENGLAND. The horse racing game, titled Escalado, is housed in its original pictorial cardboard box. The lid bears a crest and the characters The Chad Valley Company Ltd. Harborne, England. The set includes four die-cast metal horses with jockeys in red, green, purple, and white paint finishes, a green wooden component, and a plastic bag containing a numbered sheet.

Condition report:
The yacht shows significant play wear with surface dirt, scuffs, and paint loss to the white hull, particularly near the keel (photo 4). The cloth sails are heavily creased and discoloured, and the rigging is tangled and partially detached (photo 1). The Escalado box is in poor condition with substantial paper loss, tearing, and structural weakness to the lid (photo 1). The die-cast horses exhibit typical paint chipping and wear consistent with age (photo 2).
