Lot 56:
Description
A collection of glass paperweights comprising a variety of decorative techniques and forms. The group features a large ovoid green glass paperweight with a controlled bubble fountain effect over a dark green base accented with gold aventurine inclusions. Included are two millefiori weights; one larger dome featuring concentric rings of red and white star-patterned canes, and a smaller dome with a close-packed arrangement of multicoloured canes in yellow, blue, red, and white. The collection also contains two lampwork spheres, one depicting a purple and white flower with a central controlled bubble on a blue base, and another with an orange internal core supporting two lampwork butterflies in blue and reddish-brown. Completing the lot are two swirl weights, including a blue and white wave-like ovoid form and a smaller reddish-orange textured dome. There are no maker’s marks, signatures, or labels visible on the items.
Height: 11.5 cm
Width: 28 cm.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no visible cracks or large chips to the glass. Minor surface reflections are present. The blue butterfly within the orange weight shows a slight tilt, characteristic of the handmade lampwork process.
