Lot 55:
Description
A contemporary earthenware oval vase from the Wedgwood Interiors collection. The vessel features a bulbous, tapering form with a narrow mouth, finished in two distinct decorative schemes. The upper section is coated in a smooth, high-gloss pale blue glaze, which transitions into a textured lower section. This lower portion is decorated with multiple horizontal bands of vertical white linear incisions against the blue ground, creating a modern beehive or engine-turned aesthetic. The base of the vase bears a printed dark grey mark comprising a stylized W above the name WEDGWOOD followed by the registered trademark symbol, the word INTERIORS, the designation EARTHENWARE, the origin MADE IN ENGLAND, and the copyright date © 1999. The number 33 is also present to the right of the main mark.
Condition report:
The vase is in good structural condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs visible. The glaze on the upper section retains a high-gloss finish. There are some light surface marks and expected shelf wear to the unglazed foot ring (photo 2).
