Description

A substantial wrought iron chandelier in the Spanish Revival style featuring six scroll-form arms. The frame is constructed from heavy-gauge iron with elaborate scrollwork and twisted metal uprights, finished in a heavily distressed white paint showing significant oxidation. The fixture comprises six candle-style light sockets set into circular drip pans, all supported by a central stem terminating in a large suspension ring. The suspension assembly includes a section of heavy-duty link chain and a domed ceiling rose. The chandelier is fitted with standard UK bayonet B22 bulb sockets and internal wiring. No maker marks or labels are visible on the metalwork or within the electrical components.

No Postage Available.

Condition report:

The chandelier is in a heavily weathered and as-found condition. There is extensive surface rust and oxidation visible across all metal surfaces, most notably on the ceiling rose and suspension chain (photo 4). The decorative paint finish shows widespread flaking, loss, and discoloration throughout the scrollwork (photo 1). Several of the scroll arms show slight misalignment and appear bent from their original positions (photo 2). The electrical wiring is old, cut, and in a dismantled state, showing exposed conductors (photo 3). There is an accumulation of dust and debris within the intricate metalwork.
