Description
A rectangular dark wood jewelry chest featuring decorative brass sheeting to the front and sides. The exterior is embellished with numerous brass dome-headed upholstery-style studs arranged in linear borders and floral clusters. The chest is constructed with two metal hinges, a central clasp, and four turned wooden feet. The interior contains an assortment of costume jewelry including a multi-strand chain collar necklace, a silver bangle with embossed foliate motifs, and various bead and imitation pearl strands. Notable pieces include a silver necklace featuring a large pear-cut blue glass pendant in a pavé-set surround and a gold chain necklace with a small circular hang tag embossed with the letter N. Other items comprise multi-tonal brown and gold chain-fringe necklaces and faceted glass bead strands.

Condition report:
The wooden chest shows general wear to the finish along the edges and lid (photo 1). The brass plating exhibits surface tarnishing and light scratches throughout (photo 2). The jewelry items are stored loosely and show some tangling and surface oxidation to the metal finishes (photo 3). Minor surface scuffing is visible on the imitation pearls (photo 1). The blue glass pendant appears intact with no visible chips (photo 2).
