Description
A collection of vintage fishing reels comprising a Mitchell 301 open-face spinning reel, a Ryobi LX02 spinning reel, a large metal centerpin reel, and an early grey-finished spinning reel. The Mitchell 301 is a left-handed model with a black finish, featuring a silver-tone bail arm and a side-mounted lever, marked with the script text Mitchell 301 on the body. The Ryobi LX02 reel is constructed from black composite and metal, featuring a blue and white adhesive label reading RYOBI LX02 GEAR RATIO 3.4:1. The large silver metal centerpin reel features a perforated front plate with two black handles and a central adjustment mechanism. The fourth reel is an early open-face model with a grey-finished cast metal body, a black handle, and a conical front drag knob. The spools are wound with various monofilament lines.

Condition report:
The Mitchell 301 reel shows significant paint loss and surface scratching to the body (photo 1). The Ryobi LX02 reel exhibits general surface wear and dust accumulation throughout the body and spool (photo 1). The silver centerpin reel shows heavy oxidation and pitting across the metal surfaces of the perforated front plate (photo 1). The grey cast metal spinning reel shows heavy surface oxidation and significant wear to the finish throughout the body and bail arm (photo 1). Mechanical functionality of the gears, bails, and drag systems has not been tested.
