Description
A trio of solid wood plate stands constructed in a dark brown finish with a curvilinear scrolled silhouette. Each stand features a hinged rear support leg and two turned wooden peg supports at the base to secure a collector plate or framed work. The stands are assembled with brass metal hinges at the top. A brass plate at the hinge is stamped with the characters VAN HYGAN & SMYTHE and PAT. PEND. The stands exhibit variations in finish tone from medium to dark brown wood.

Condition report:
The stands show visible surface scuffing and wear to the finish on the lower edges and the turned wooden pegs (photo 1). There is minor discoloration and scratching to the rear support legs (photo 2). The brass hardware exhibits some surface oxidation and scratches around the screw heads (photo 3).
