Description
An assortment of Ebony style hardwood carvings comprising three busts and one full-length figure. The items are hand-carved from a dense, dark timber with a polished finish. The group includes a slender standing female figure on a cross-hatched geometric base, wearing a wrap garment and featuring a linear coiffure. Two central busts depict a male and female pair with almond-shaped eyes and defined facial features; the male figure has a short textured coiffure, while the female features thick parallel braided ridges. The fourth bust is detailed with a finely incised crest coiffure, a rear ponytail, and elongated earlobes fitted with large circular plugs. The reverse of the male bust shows a small area where the dark surface finish has been removed, revealing a lighter reddish-brown wood grain beneath. No maker marks or signatures are present on the items.

Condition report:
The carvings are in good vintage condition. There is a small chip and loss of the dark surface finish on the rear of the male bust, revealing the lighter wood underneath (photo 2). Minor surface scuffs are visible across the group. Dust accumulation is present within the recessed areas of the hair and garment carvings (photo 1). No structural repairs or insect damage are visible.
