Description
A trio of mid-20th century equipment comprising a black rubberised gas mask, a pair of S.G. Brown headphones, and a turned wooden truncheon. The gas mask is constructed from a flexible black rubber facepiece featuring a single panoramic clear plastic eyepiece with a brown stitched fabric border and tan canvas adjustable head straps. The front of the mask is fitted with a black cylindrical intake housing partially wrapped in cream tape. The vintage headphones feature two black earpieces mounted on a metal headband with fabric-insulated wiring terminating in a single-pin jack. The back of one earpiece is embossed with the characters S.G. BROWN LTD and TYPE F. The truncheon is made of turned wood with a dark reddish-brown finish, featuring a grooved handle for grip and a leather wrist strap secured with a metal stud.

Condition report:
The gas mask rubber facepiece shows surface dirt and stiffening, with visible clouding and scratching to the clear plastic eyepiece (photo 1). The canvas head straps are significantly stained, frayed, and show oxidation to the metal buckles (photo 1). The headphone wiring shows heavy fraying and loss to the fabric insulation, with green tape applied near the jack (photo 1). The metal headband exhibits surface oxidation and patina (photo 2). The wooden truncheon displays multiple scuffs, indentations, and finish loss across the body, and the leather wrist strap is dry-cracked and worn (photo 1).
