Description
A synthetic B-flat clarinet constructed from a dark matte-finished resin, comprising a mouthpiece, barrel, upper joint, lower joint, and bell. The instrument features a Boehm system keywork arrangement with nickel plated keys, rings, and pillars. Natural cork tenons are used for the joint connections, and the bell and barrel are reinforced with polished metal rings. The upper joint and bell feature impressed circular marks containing illegible characters and a central device. The instrument is housed in a rectangular black hard-shell carry case with a plush-lined interior, plastic handle, and silver-tone metal latches. Accessories include a black plastic mouthpiece, a metal ligature, and a protective mouthpiece cap.
Length: 66 cm.
Condition report:
The instrument shows signs of regular use throughout. The nickel plating on the keywork and rings exhibits significant oxidation and dullness (photo 1). A buildup of dust and residue is visible around the tone holes and under the keywork (photo 2). The cork tenons are intact but show darkening and wear from assembly (photo 1). The exterior of the hard-shell case has scuffing and wear to the binding at the edges (photo 1). The functionality of the pads and internal spring tension has not been tested.
