Description

A group of decorative wooden boxes featuring a 19th-century mahogany tea caddy. The caddy is constructed with a two-compartment interior, each fitted with a wooden lid and a central bone-effect knob, and the underside of the main lid is finished with a blue and cream foliate scroll pattern paper lining. The exterior features a brass-mounted keyhole escutcheon. Also included is a stationery box finished in tooled brown leather with a slanted hinged lid, opening to reveal a red felt-lined interior with internal drawers and compartments. A small Indian hardwood box features hand-carved floral motifs and a central bone or shell inlay depicting a foliate spray, finished with a purple velvet lining to the lid. The group is completed by a plain rectangular dark wood box and a smaller light wood box topped with a die-cast vintage car model. A brass lock plate is visible on the tea caddy, and the stationery box features a small metal ring pull. A ruler positioned behind the items shows the tea caddy measures approximately 10 inches in width.

Width: 25.4 cm.
