Lot 71:
Description
A pair of Silver decorative band rings featuring geometric and foliate motifs. The first ring is a narrow band featuring a die-struck repeating diamond and lozenge pattern around the exterior. The second, wider band is decorated with an engraved stylized laurel or wheat leaf motif set against a textured ground. Both rings are constructed from solid metal with a polished interior and textured exterior decoration. The interior of the narrow band is marked with the characters 925 in a rectangular cartouche, alongside a smaller illegible mark. The wider band also bears the 925 mark in a rectangular cartouche on the interior surface, confirming the metal fineness.
Width: 3 mm
Width: 5 mm.
Condition report:
Both rings show surface wear consistent with age and use. There are visible surface scratches, minor scuffing, and areas of natural tarnishing and patina to both the interior and exterior surfaces (photos 1 and 2). The engraved and die-struck decorative details remain well-defined and relatively crisp without significant loss to the pattern.
