Description
A 19th-century spun brass preserve pan featuring a flared cauldron form with a rolled rim. The brass body displays concentric spinning striations and is fitted with two heavy brass handle lugs riveted to the sides. It is suspended by an arched hand-wrought iron swing handle with curled terminal hooks. Unmarked.

Condition report:
Darkened, unpolished patina throughout with age-related oxidation and surface tarnish, including green verdigris to the interior and base (photos 1 and 2). Light surface scratches and minor scuffs to the exterior brass body (photo 1). The wrought iron swing handle displays surface corrosion and pitting consistent with age (photos 1, 2, and 3). Structurally sound with no splits to the rolled rim.
