Lot 133:
Description
A trio of Silver brooches, each modelled in the form of a bird in flight with outstretched wings and downward-tucked heads. The set comprises three graduated sizes, each featuring detailed plumage and textural feathering across the wings and body. The largest and middle-sized birds are constructed with a hollow reverse and show remains of solder points where attachment hardware was previously located. The smallest bird is similarly formed but retains two circular lugs on the reverse for secure fastening. The metal surfaces across the group display a bright finish with some darker oxidation in the recessed areas of the casting.
