Lot 132:
Description
A cast Silver lapel stickpin in the form of a Luftwaffe-style flying eagle. The eagle is depicted in a dynamic flight pose, holding a swastika in its talons. The motif, often referred to as a drop-tail or Condor Legion pattern, is rendered with moderate detail to the feathering and form. The reverse of the eagle is flat and features a soldered attachment for a long, straight brass-coloured pin. The upper portion of the pin is designed with a twisted texture, intended to provide extra grip when secured through fabric. The piece is finished in a uniform silver colour across the eagle motif. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the reverse of the badge or along the length of the pin.
