Description
A machine embroidered Luftwaffe breast eagle produced in white cotton thread on a dark blue wool backing. The design depicts the characteristic flying eagle in profile, clutching a swastika in its talons. This example is a uniform-removed specimen, featuring frayed edges to the backing cloth where it was originally stitched to a flight blouse or paratrooper smock. The reverse displays the typical bobbin thread and trailing embroidery lines consistent with period machine construction. There are no visible maker marks or labels on either side.
