Description
A group of three English silver-plated items. The collection includes a circular pin cushion featuring a green velvet cushion set into a silver-plated base of squat circular form. The underside of the base is stamped GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY / 112 REGENT STREET.W. and REGENT PLATE. Also included is a novelty pin cushion modelled in the form of a lady’s heeled shoe with stitched detailing and a pointed toe. This item is constructed from white metal and contains a purple fabric cushion with cord laces; the sole is incised MADE IN ENGLAND. The final item is a silver-plated napkin ring of circular form, decorated with an engraved border of diagonal hatched lines.
Condition report:
All items show signs of age and use. The circular pin cushion base has surface scratches and minor tarnishing, while the green velvet shows light wear. The shoe pin cushion exhibits wear to the metal surface and fraying to the cord laces. The napkin ring shows light surface scratches and minor loss to the plating consistent with regular use.
