Description
A late 20th-century carriage clock by Taylor & Bligh, England. The polished brass case features five bevelled glass panels, including a top viewing aperture for the escapement. The white dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers with an outer track of black Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals, set with black Breguet-style hands. The mechanical 11-jewel movement is wound by key and is visible through the rear door. The dial is marked Taylor & Bligh England, and the rear movement plate is engraved Made in England and 11 Jewels in cursive script. The clock features a traditional swinging rectangular handle and stands on a stepped plinth base. Includes a brass winding key.
Height: Approximately 12.7 cm (excluding handle).
Condition report:
The clock is in good aesthetic condition with a bright, polished finish to the brass. All glass panels are intact and free from chips or cracks. The movement is mechanical and currently untested for timekeeping or duration. Minor surface dust is present to the interior and some very light surface wear is visible to the brass consistent with handling.
