Description
A rectangular jewellery box constructed from highly figured Thuya wood veneers, likely of Moroccan origin. The exterior features decorative ebonised stringing, with two concentric rectangular inlaid borders to the lid and three parallel horizontal bands encircling the body. The interior lid and inner walls are veneered with Thuya wood, while the base consists of a plain, lighter-toned wood. The piece is fitted with a brass lock plate and a corresponding catch on the inner lid. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.

Condition report:
The item shows light surface wear and minor scuffing commensurate with age. The brass lock is present; however, no key is provided.
